Den 18. April blev the National (American) Digital Public Library officielt søsat. Det er et ret ambitiøst project som tager sigte på at alle digitale samlinger i amerikanske forskningsbiblioteker, arkiver og museer skal stille gratis og online til rådighed for alle amerikanere og senere for alle i verden.
